Welcome to the 2025 M3 Monikie Standard (Olympic) Distance Triathlon at Monikie Park, brought to you by Monifieth Triathlon Club (M3). Join us on Saturday, 19th July 2025, for an unforgettable experience!
This event is perfect for athletes of all abilities who want to enjoy an open water swim in the picturesque Monikie Country Park, cycle through scenic Angus country roads, and run around the beautiful reservoirs at Monikie Park.

- Participant Limit: 200 (first come, first served)
- Relay: There is also a relay option!
- Under 18s: Require parent/guardian consent at registration due to the bike leg on open roads.
- Closing Date: 11th July 2025 (2359 hrs)
- Entry Fee: Home Nations Member (CORE ADULT or above membership): £70. Home Nation Members (ESSENTIAL or below membership) or Non-Members: £70 plus race pass (£2 if <25y, £8 if >24y) Race Pass required for non-members.
- Race Rules: Under Triathlon Scotland rules.
- Estimated Start Times: Standard (Olympic) 0900hrs, Standard (Olympic) Relay 0900hrs
- Parking: Available within Monikie Park grounds. Car sharing recommended. Offsite parking will be communicated before the event. Parking on Panmure Road is strictly prohibited.
- Medical Cover & First Aid: Provided by Tayside Mountain Rescue.
- Refreshments: Café within Monikie Park grounds.
- Facilities: Showers and toilets available.
- Results: Open Category (1st to 3rd), Female Category (1st to 3rd). Age group prizes may be awarded.

SWIM
The swim takes place in the smaller North Pond, covering a ~1500m course with two anticlockwise 750m circuits. The mass beach start will be organized in 2-3 waves based on estimated swim times to ensure water safety. The entry and exit points are different, with an ~80m run/walk to transition on carpets.
Wetsuits are recommended and may be compulsory depending on water temperature. The swim route may be altered based on weather conditions.
BIKE
The cycle route is designed to be challenging yet achievable, taking you through lovely Angus country roads with breathtaking views. The rolling course includes one well-known local hill with spectacular views. Please review the route before signing up.
Route:

- Exit transition and leave Monikie Country Park via the South Gate.

- Follow B961 until Monikie Primary School Cross Roads, turning left onto Kirkton Road.

- Follow Kirkton Road until the junction with Panmure Road, turning right.

- Follow Panmure Road onto Hillhead Road, then head west to Luckyslap junction.

- Turn right onto B978 (MANDATORY STOP junction).

- Follow B978 north until the junction with B9127, turn left onto B9127.

- Follow B9127 through Whigstreet until the junction after Seggieden, turn left onto an unnamed road.

- Follow until the junction at Mid Lodge, turn left onto Chapel Road.

- Head south through Hatton and Carrot, then up over Carrot Hill.

- Once over Carrot Hill, head left towards Greenburn/Luckyslap junction (MANDATORY STOP junction).

- Turn left onto B971 heading north and repeat the anti-clockwise loop over Carrot Hill.

- Return to Greenburn/Luckyslap junction, stop and follow marshal guidance before turning right onto B971.

- Continue south on B971 to Luckyslap junction, turn left onto Hillhead Road, then into Monikie Village.

- Turn right onto Panmure Road, continue south through Monikie village, then turn left onto B961 at Monikie Memorial Hall.

- Follow B961 to the South Gate of Monikie, re-enter the park and proceed to transition, dismounting before the dismount line.
RUN
Exit transition for the run, completing two anti-clockwise laps around both ponds (~3Km each), then two anti-clockwise laps around the South Pond (~2Km each), before crossing the finish line next to transition. Follow course signs for guidance.
